Tropical, which has had operations in Trinidad for more than 20 years, received the first official shipment to a newly constructed 14,000-square-foot bonded warehouse and office in the Trincity Business Park.
"I saw this project become reality and, with it, Tropical Trinidad's potential can be fully realized," said Warehouse Supervisor Don – more... Kallicharan.
On June 22, Mr. Kallicharan joined fellow Tropical employees, customers and other guests at the official grand opening ceremony to celebrate the successful launch of the Trinidad warehouse service.
"We are very excited about the technology and convenience we are offering our customers." explained James Devers, who manages Tropical's entire Windward Islands trade.
"Some people think shipping is complicated but we want them to know it's not. It doesn't have to be a hassle. With our bonded warehouse open, we are a one-stop shop that enhances every facet of the shipping experience for our customers."
Featuring 24-hour security, on-site customs processing and an air-conditioned waiting room, the facility provides a more effective and efficient service. Customers have the benefit of everything taking place in the same location: bill of lading collection, freight payment, customs processing, duty payment and cargo collection, and this significantly decreases the on-island processing time for Tropical's customers.
Services available include:
Bonded warehouse
Import and export expertise
Shipment consolidation services
LCL (less than container load) cargo handling
FCL (full container load) cargo handling
"There is no package too big or too small for Tropical," said Sales Manager Sabeeta Bidasie Singh.
"The new bonded warehouse is in a great location, which gives customers easy access to our facilities, Mrs. Singh explained. "Our process is congestion-free so we can guarantee the speedy turnaround of our customers' cargo. This is important because it enables them to be in and out of our office with their cargo within 30 minutes. And soon we will be offering door delivery. We are always looking for new ways to give our customers the shipping solutions they need to make it easier to do business with us."
Tropical Shipping's reputation for on-time arrivals means a Tropical cargo ship arrives in Trinidad every Wednesday, making LCL cargo available by Friday. The warehouse gives Tropical's customers in Trinidad even faster access to that cargo, which translates to improved supply chain management for Tropical customers by enabling them to use just-in-time inventory management strategies.
"Having the Less than Container Load bonded warehouse open and ready for business is an extra selling tool for us. This new hassle-free delivery and better way to send and receive cargo is another way we can keep our customers happy," said Navindra Babwah, one of the Tropical Sales Representatives in Trinidad. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
