Store Clerk, Herndon, VA - March 8, 2016
A typical day at work depends on the time of year: when it's colder out, the days are long, boring, and tiresome. Few customers come in and there are fewer people working each shift, so most of the time is figuring out what to do, and often times I found myself mindlessly wandering once everything was done. When it's warmer out, however, the day is rushed with constant work, always moving around, and honestly much more enjoyable than the winter days. There's always something to do and there are plenty of coworkers to talk to, mostly friendly with a few who like to talk smack or don't talk at all. The first store owners I worked under were very friendly and would often help out with the smoothie line or even doing the dishes. The second, not so much. I rarely ever saw them and they would often make mistakes with payment and schedule. Basically, you may start out great or you may start out terribly, but everything is subject to change, so stay in it and you'll definitely have a good time (at least sometimes). Perfect for high school students and college students on summer break, and those looking for a comfortable full-time job with secure wages and work hours.
