Department Loyalty of TSYS
Continuously changing shiftsevery three months, changing rules of programs with no notifications....meaning it's easy to fail a call, no clear answers when asked, unable to read system clearly nor are they up to date, different answers from different Supervisors for the same question, and Request for time off or Holidays have – more... to be given months in advance. Made it really hard to work for this company with having kids and school. Very stressful job! – less

TSYS is a productive, fun place to work. Great leadership team.
Senior Director: Portfolio Management (Former Employee), Columbus, GASeptember 6, 2012
Pros: team environment, benefits, learning/supportive envirnoment
Cons: you never want to leave your job (because you enjoy it so much).
The choice to join TSYS was simple for me – it all added up. Once I got to met and know the executive team, I could feel their passion and drive. The company is the right size with the right amount of growth. The environment is entrepreneurial and I always had an opportunity to drive the business. Makes you want to be part of such a growing, vibrant – more... organization.
I had the freedom to work with clients in whatever way works best for them and for me. I had the flexibility to come up with creative solutions, but I also had a support infrastructure so I had resources that I can rely on to help me build solutions. That’s how TSYS deliver value to their customers.
When you look at really large companies, you have to fit into a system and pay your dues – but the plus side is that these company's have an infrastructure in place. In smaller companies, you have a lot of flexibility but it can be very disorganized. At TSYS, you get the best of both worlds – a blend of small company freedom and big company infrastructure and support.
TSYS entrepreneurial spirit extends to employees and the community. The company is always willing to be a part of any cause that you bring to the table. For example, TSYS gives their employees the time they need in support of community efforts.
When the TSYS says, “We do the right thing” it is not just lip service. I had a medical emergency in my family and the company did everything possible to give me the flexibility and support I needed to care for my family during this time.
There is a consistent level of quality in TSYS employees, from the leadership team down. I would much rather work in this situation than in a corporate scenario where there are A, B, and C level players. Plus, the leadership team has been very anticipatory – focusing on potential challenges for growth and proactively addressing them. This gave me confidence that the company will stay strong, for a long time. – less

TSYS IS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK.
Project Manager (Former Employee), Alpharetta, GAAugust 23, 2012
Pros: outstanding team fellowship and spirit
Cons: my project ran out and i was laid-off
TSYS is a great place to work. I enjoyed coming to work everyday of my 7 years with this company. I learned how to be a project manager and completed a two year project in one year. My immediate supervisor was okay. I found it difficult at times to meet on required upper management decisions. The hardest part of my job was doing a good job and completing – more... my project one year ahead of schedule. The most enjoyable part of my job was training, developing and assisting my fellow employees and team mates. – less

Important part was that I liked my co-workers
System Software Analyst (Former Employee), Columbus, GAJune 14, 2012
Pros: free lunches from the vendors
Cons: competent people were passed over for promotion
I didn't enjoy the work. It was a bit boring to me. It was challenging and I tried to keep up with the brainiacs, but I found out that the IT was not for me. It seemed impersonal. The most enjoyable part of the job were my co-workers.

You had everything you ever needed. Bank, gym, food, store, library & travel agency.
Business Analyst II (Former Employee), Columbus GaMay 22, 2012
Pros: family oriented, team building games, fundraisers, communication, leadership & unity
A typical day at TSYS was work oriented first as well as felt valued as an individual. TSYS offered "TSYS school to learn for advancements." I was surrounded by a diverse group of people and it just worked great. I was with TSYS for 12 years as well as my husband and still miss it today. I was taught many skills through different mentors there and use – more... those skills in my current position today and I am grateful for my experience. I cannot say the was a hard part of my jobs, sometimes stressful under meeting time restraints but that was part of the job at times and in my book, that built character. I wish I had that same leadership in my current business. I will carry TSYS in my heart as a family for life. – less

EXCELLENT PLACE TO WORK, BUT FAR AWAY
SENIOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT (Current Employee), Tempe, AZMay 10, 2012
Pros: nice people work there
Cons: very long drive to work, gas is expensive
HANDLING COMPLEX INCOMING CALLS, LOGGING INFORMATION ON COMPUTER SYSTEMS. THIS INVOLVED SELECTING CORRECT DATABASE TO USE, OFTEN FINDING ERRORS, CORRECTING THEM, AND THEN PROGRAMMING THE TERMINAL AS NEEDED TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY SERVER AND MAKE NEEDED CORRECTIONS. I ALSO HELPED OTHER TECH SUPPORT PEOPLE FROM OTHER BANKS, OTHER HELP DESKS, AND SOFTWARES – more... TO FIND AND FIX THEIR PROBLEMS AS WELL.
I LEARNED HOW TERMINALS WORK AND RELATE TO THE DATABASES ASSIGNED TO THEM, HOW TO FIND AND FIX ERRORS, MANUALLY OR THRU DOWNLOADS. I HELPED MAKE ONLINE DOCUMENTATION THAT WAS NEEDED, AS WELL AS COME UP WITH FIXES FOR 25 YEAR OLD PROBLEMS, THAT NO ONE HAD COME UP WITH UP TILL THEN, SUCH AS MY "VIRTUAL TERMINAL FIX"
I HAVE FRIENDLY MANAGERS AND CO WORKERS. THE HARDEST PART OF MY JOB IS THE DISTANCE TO WORK. THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF MY JOB IS FIXING BANK REPS AND MERCHANTS TERMINALS, AND LISTEN TO THEM SAY THEY "LOVE ME" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, THAT GIVES ONE A WARM FUZZY! I AM GOOD AT WHAT I DO, I HAVE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE MOST COMPLIMENTS OF ALL THE HELP DESK ON THE FLOOR. – less

Good Company, Good People
General Peon (Current Employee), Tempe, AZMay 9, 2012
Pros: people, environment, benefits
Cons: compensation, growth opportunities
TSYS is a great company to work for mostly because of the people who work there. As with any company you have good and bad, but with TSYS the good normally outweighs the bad by a lot. I've learned a lot from my years at TSYS, and have made many friends along the way. TSYS is a company that people leave, but normally make their way back to, which speaks – more... volumes about the company.
There are very restrictive policies on posting for jobs within the company, which limits growth opportunities, which is probably why people leave and come back so much. – less
