Great company but work life balance was a challenge
Project Manager (Current Employee), Seattle, WA – April 20, 2013
Turner is a great place to work and I have learned a tremendous amount and continue to learn more daily. I have really enjoyed my time hear and appreciate that Turner will give you as much responsibility as you can handle. They base career advancement on performance rather than years of experience, making it possible to climb the ranks quickly if you – more... are ambitious. My co-workers are a great group of people who make going to work more enjoyable. My only complaint was that at times work-life balance was a challenge. The renovations department in particular had a reputation for burning people out. Management was working hard to change this, but I still feel like they have some work to do. – less

A company with many connections
Assistant Leader and Site Plan Captain (Former Employee), Albany, NY – April 17, 2013
I have participated in a project designed by this company targeted for high school students. I learned what a group working towards a design should function as. Per day of work, I would work on a design for a bridge either on paper or on a CAD software. I also managed the overall site plan development. The most enjoyable part of this project was when – more... the bridge we designed was set into place. – less

Family feel with co-workers. Fast-paced customer focused.
Senior Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Indianapolis, IN – February 26, 2013
Pros: a feeling of family in co-workers.
Cons: being pulled off prior to a job completion to start a new project.
Caring environment fast-paced, good people. Putting up a hospital or other building brings a sence of pride to all that contribute. Always cross training and learning new skills can only help the individual as well as bring a rounded employee within the company and presented to any owner. Good place to work.

Cons: n/a
I truly enjoyed working for this company. They were a group of professionals, who all had a very strong work ethic and only expected the best production from their employees. In return the company had great morale and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to learn and grow.

Great company to work for
Project Superintendent (Former Employee), Seattle, WA – January 24, 2013
Pros: great people, pay and environment.
Cons: sometimes what seems like a promotion, isn't. demanding on time but what isn't
Building massive projects is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Turner was my start in urban development building. Turner stresses team efforts and makes team building events available and fun for field management and office management. Pay is excellent and good work is rewarded. Finding efficient ways of doing things get you big props – more... and everyone is able to enjoy their work even if there are minor mistakes. Safety is first on the list and quality a close second.

If you are offered a position with the Shell and Core division of Turner, snatch it up. Special projects division? be very selective of what you're willing to take. That part of Turner is a good 'ol boys club. Seems like it would be the opposite right? It's not. – less

Great Company!
Administrative Assistant/Receptionist (Former Employee), Boston, MA – January 6, 2013
Turner is a great company with great people. I learned so much while I was there, and they recognize good talent and do what they can to retain it. Unfortunately I was there at the beginning of the recession when work slowed down and my project ended so I made the choice to move on. Miss it

Largest Construction Company in the United Stated
Financial Manager (Controller) (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO – January 5, 2013
Pros: stable work environment
Cons: sold to a german company
Turner Construction was a very good company to work. It provided an environment to grow and progress in the financial division of the company. From a student directly out of college to a Regional Controller of four Business units in the Midwest, I learned multiple business functions in my 25 year career.

The Company was sold to a German company which – more... re-organized the accounting functions. Basically, the accounting functions were consolidated into hubs which reduced the need for Regional Controllers. – less

Formal construction company with many intelligent individuals
Engineer (Current Employee), Chicago, IL – December 29, 2012
I've had a great experience at Turner and have been offered a lot of responsibilities when asked. I've had the opportunity to move to different positions that are more focused on my career path. The most enjoyable portion of the job is working with my teammates.

It's very difficult to advance at Turner within the first 5-7 years. You can show consistent – more... leadership accomplishments and still not be awarded a higher position or higher salary over your peers even if they have a below average performance. – less

It was a nice work environement that was pretty relaxed & allowed for better work productivity.
Assistant Engineer (Former Employee), Texas, MD – December 18, 2012
I learned a lot as it relates to construction management & everyone was helpful as it relates to getting work completed. The hardest part of the job was the fact that there were times when work came home which cut into work life balance. The most enjoyable part of the job was the day to day interactions and fast paced environment.
