Generally a Great Place to Work
Digital Producer (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 30, 2013
Pros: compensation, benefits, work-life balance, friendly and respectful environment.
Cons: big company with lots of beaurocracy, many decisions passed down by management without knowing the actual impacts.
Turner is a big company within an even bigger company, but it breaks down fairly well and has good benefits and allows for work-life balance. Advancement is pretty common here, something I've found elusive at many other companies I've worked for.

Great company
Security Officer (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – March 26, 2013
Pros: vacation days and co-workers
Cons: no room for advancment and short breaks
On your feet a lot, mentally and physically. Hardest part of the job was the standing, which would last up to 7 hrs in one position.

Great company for some
Coordinator, Digital Marketing & Promotions (Current Employee), New York, NY – March 4, 2013
While there are a lot of great benefits and decent compensation for employees, there is very few upward growth opportunities. Morale is low because there is a perceived unfairness in the company depending on functionality

Great place to be an employee not a great place to work
Lead Systems Engineer (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA – February 25, 2013
Pros: lots of benefits, some very smart people
Cons: negative people, clueless management, difficult to leave, turner time
Do not join this company if you are a high-level professional unless you wish to be stuck a long time. Turner and all of its parts have non-competes and no-poach agreements with many of what appear to be the better recruitment firms and those recruiters cannot work with you if you want to leave. Despite blocking all of those recruiters I have not seem – more... a single person hired in 5 months and I know of several openings.

If you are a results-driven individual then forget it. If you want to work in mediocrity forever and love to be surrounded by people who hate their jobs and never want to accomplish anything useful then enjoy. – less

Great place to work; family athmosphere.
Transmissions Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – February 18, 2013
Pros: great meals during major events
Cons: none i can think of
time spent on a daily basis was productive; we worked as teams to accomplish our daily tasks. there was freedom to explore and participate in various projects. Management was approachable and helpful. The hardist part of my job was to leave it.The most enjoyable part of my job came at the end of an event knowing that all went well and issues were resolved.

Production
Producer (Former Employee), Atlanta – February 12, 2013
Pros: great benefits, fair pay, excellent separation packages
Cons: long, late hours are expected without additional pay. difficulty getting a raise/promotion.
The management and culture at Turner Broadcasting is top notch. Overall I had a fantastic experience there. I wish there were more opportunities for advancement, but moving up the ladder sometimes has nothing to do with your skills or results, as there seems to be a lack of opportunity there. Year after year, I was given excellent scores in all of my – more... reviews and received the maximum amount of bonus payout based on my performance review. Year after year, I asked for more responsibility and a promotion, but I was never granted one. – less

Finance and Accounting
Financial Analyst / Finance Manager (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA – February 8, 2013
Pros: you'll be working for a cable network
Cons: no work / life balance, favoritism, bad management
The finance and accounting departments used to be a place where you could get good experience, learn, move up or around the company and love it. But times have changed and the old guard is gone. The International division is a disaster with VPs that have a very negative attitude and that were transferred from other divisions (i.e. News / CNN) because – more... they could not go anywhere else even though they don't even speak a second language like Spanish! – less

I still miss Turner
Executive Assistant (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – February 4, 2013
Pros: lots of perks (free braves tix, free hawks tix, discounts on travel and retail, and much much more)
Cons: few opportunities to move within company.
I left Turner to advance my career--trying to move up within Turner is even harder than trying to get a new job at Turner. That being said, once you get in it's hard to leave...

Turner is comfortable. I just talked to someone who has her Master's degree and she is in a coordinator position (a position best suited for recent (undergrad) grads). She's – more... comfortable. Turner pays well, the benefits are great and the perks are phenomenal.

Turner execs always promote this elusive opportunity to advance with the company--but the people who tell you that have been with the company for 25 years and THEY advanced when it was much smaller, now you may have a better chance of wining the lottery than being promoted internally or even moving from one department to the next. – less

STAY AWAY. VERY HORRIBLE COMPANY TO WORK FOR
Audit (Current Employee), Atlanta, Ga – December 28, 2012
Pros: none that i can think of
Cons: management, discrimination, favoritism, work load, made-up lies
No work life balance. Incompetent, evil, and plain BAD employees in the CP&R/SOX group, starting with their leader. people who perform very sub-standard work and cover-up horrible accounting practices. In the SOX Group, There is Absolutely ZERO work-life balance for particular employees while particular employees either do not come to work or leave – more... work early. HR is very unfair when you raise an issue. when you are smart, they work you to death. under paid but over-worked. Th people in the SOX group are just plain ugly both inside and outside. – less

Assistant Controller (Current Employee), Atlanta – December 10, 2012
Pros: broadcating industry
Cons: management will give lip service, all strong managers are now gone from the company
Stay away if you value your family. No work/life balance. It is worse if you have a baby while you are there. It is looked as a negative.

Great Experience in a Challenging Environment
Sr. Game Tester (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – December 8, 2012
Pros: great benefits, experience in a fortune500 company, fast nimble workforce
Cons: career growth may be challenging from within the company.
Turner jump-started my career in two emerging game environments, platform-dependent digital distribution and Mobile/Social gaming. Both GameTap and Adult Swim Games taught me certified best practices for managing heavy workloads and prioritizing task lists. They taught me how to work in a professional team, and publish content that has been thoroughly – more... checked before going Live. I would recommend Turner Broadcasting to any potential candidate as a great way to gain certified experience in a short amount of time. – less
