Facilities Management Specialist, 750 Communications Parkway - June 12, 2014
A typical day at work can vary greatly; some days are relaxed and slow, while others may be fast-paced and bounce between multiple tasks requiring immediate attention from start to finish. Management is understanding and kind, with a totally open-door policy, though at times difficult to fully connect with as they may work in another state. Co-workers are laid back. The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendly and easygoing environment, while the hardest part is having to make on-the-fly decisions sometimes without the ability to consult a supervisor first. In addition, my main complaint is the low pay despite the scope my position entails. I have learned to be extremely self-sufficient and to better communicate/negotiate with vendors, clients, and co-workers. I have also learned to effectively be a liason between upholding corporate policy while meeting the business and facilities needs of my coworkers.
