Pros: Career opportunities, health and education benefits, preferred hiring status, travel
Cons: indeterminate work schedule, physically and mentally rigorous, workplace hazards
As an infantryman, a normal workday begins with physical fitness and is either on base taking classes and completing courses, or out in the field practicing hands-on practical application training. While on base, requirements such as annual training, course renewals, and preparing subordinates for field training is conducted. While in the field, operations and long-term training is conducted, often for weeks at a time. The hardest part is maintaining and improving your body and mindset to be a warfighter. The most enjoyable aspect of the infantry is the privilege of utilizing weapons and technology that otherwise I would not have been able to anywhere else.
