Friendly coworkers, productive atmosphere, and good leadership
Tissue Engineering Lab, West Point New York - September 23, 2015
Work typically started around 9:00am and went as late as 7:00pm. The job responsibilities included cell culture preparation, collagen fiber production, PDMS curing, 3D printing, video microscopy analysis, and scanning electron microscope imaging. In addition to this, I was responsible for nerve growth factor bead conjugation and primer selection for RT-PCR analysis. This job was a true test of my organizational and analytical skills and while working there I learned numerous biological concepts and acquired several important lab skills. The most demanding part of the job was keeping everything organized and accounted for. This was especially difficult in this job scenario because of the time sensitive nature of the biological specimen and reagents. The most enjoyable part of the job was the experience with all the lab equipment and my coworkers who together created a healthy work environment in which we all could excel.
