Good Oppoortunity for World Travel!
Information Dominance Officer (Former Employee), San Diego, CA – May 21, 2013
The reserves offers many challenges and many rewards. There are plenty of opportunities to travel outside the US. Must have a willingness to learn and meet obstacles head-on.

My Review
Hospital Corpsman (Current Employee), Great Lakes, IL – May 20, 2013
Pros: free hotel stay for the weekend, usually stay relatively busy.
Cons: only one weekend a month, long drive with traffic heavy at times, unorganized at times.
A typical day at work may include completing required annual training, or working in the medical department handling and reviewing records. Or administering medical care. Work with various co-workers, varies month by month. Management is usually on top of it's duties. The hardest part of the job would have to be always keeping my personal information – more... up to date. The most enjoyable part of the job would be meeting new people. – less

Go Navy!
BOATSWAIN'S MATE E-4 (Current Employee), NAS North Island – April 7, 2013
Pros: travel, paid expenses, adjustable schedule (if aprooved), friendly people from all over, base access, etc.
Cons: lack in advancment due to budget cuts.
I feel Navy Reserves gives you the freedoms you don't get while serving on active duty. I feel advancment is slightly better. I have noticed most chain of commands are more fair as well. I also feel that as a reservist we choose to be there unlike a select few of active duty personnel who don't.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly
Intelligence Specialist (Current Employee), Fort Dix, NJ – March 18, 2013
If you are in a rate(job) you really like, you will have the oppurtunity to learn, advance, and excel at the job. If you are placed in an environment that is not of your liking it is hard to transfer. In the intelligence field rank is made fast which gives way to allot of questionable leadership.

Weekend warriors
Departmental Supervisor (Current Employee), Houston, Texas – March 13, 2013
Pros: annual training, retirement benefits
Cons: retirement at 65, time away from family
Drill weekends are tough on me and my family, but my overall goal is retirement. I enjoy my colleagues, and there has been a recent change in leadership, which has been for the better. When units are ran efficiently, it makes the experience much more enjoyable.

Great room for personal and career growth
Hospital Corpsman (Medic) (Current Employee), Greensboro, NC – March 7, 2013
Being a Hospital corpsman in the worlds greatest navy, there is no such thing as a typical day. I recently returned from Kandahar, Afghanistan, where i worked at the Combat Role 3 hospital. The bonds of coworkers and leadership has made me a more reliant and efficient team player, as well as strengthened my skills of independent tasks. The hardest part – more... of this job is separation from family. – less
