claim 32 hrs is full time
security officer (Current Employee), pittsburgh pa – April 26, 2013
Pros: mostly overnight shifts prefer those
Cons: some employees not so dependible
I will say this its not a bad job but they only work me 4 days a week and I feel like I'm being cheated out of an extra days pay. They brought back an employee with a history of call offset and no shows. I can only imagine the havoc thats going to bring if its one thing I despise its cleaning up someone else's mess. My first day I had to pull a 16 hour – more... double with a short turn less then 8 hours between shifts. Not the best way to start a job I'm hoping this hour situation well be resolved. Plus this looser of an employee is probably going to cause me grief. Security jobs are alright so long as they can weed out the bad apples there are a lot of those – less

A growing organization
District Manager (Current Employee), Northern California – October 20, 2012
Pros: schedule autonomy
Cons: minimal work/life balance
U.S. Security Associates is undergoing massive growth and the trend shows no signs of slowing. Being in an environment where change is the norm has been very beneficial for my personal and professional development.

I have learned to become a more effective manager, leader and subject matter expert. I have also learned to effectively and profitably – more... run a portfolio with narrow margins, where waste is not tolerated and success is measured in percentage points. That has changed my perspective and, as a result, I added almost a million dollars to the bottom line last year.

The part of the job I most enjoy is exceeding our clients and customers expectations. While it is important to develop client relationships, our customers are also the employees we support. When we provide great service to them, they provide great service to our clients. – less

Human Resource Development
Lead Security Guard (Current Employee), New York, NY – September 3, 2012
Pros: developing members to have a better appreciation of the job and respect others.
Cons: long hours standing at static locations. lunch breaks are typical 30 minutes.
As a Lead Security Guard, there is an opportunity to develop and train existing and new staff members to be professionals at their individual assignments.

Managers and some Supervisors tend to focus more discipline actions against Guards rather than developing them to become better Officers.
