Security Guard (Former Employee), New Castle, DE – April 9, 2013
The first two months I wasn't even given a uniform I has to ware my own personal clothing without patches....It was a Job I enjoyed until the new management....then I was placed in harms way more than once and treated unjustly by management. The co-workers were more easy to work with. If were better balance.....

does not offer more than basic employment
Security Shift Supervisor (Current Employee), Wilmington, DE – March 19, 2013
The company has a good base of officers but treats them in a very offhand manner which does not engender any feeling of corporate loyalty.

Not a bad job to have for a little extra $
Security Officer (Former Employee), Watertown, MA – January 31, 2013
Pros: weekends overnight are usually nice, relaxed environment at night.
Cons: pay doesn't change, if the next person on shift doesn't show, up you have to stay.
Not bad to work overnight for weekends to me. Though the pay doesn't change, and it stays at $10.00/hr.

They do not care about their employee's.
Security Guard (Current Employee), Cedar Rapids, IA – January 15, 2013
They only have one objective, and that's company first. They do not care about their employee's at all, and always leaving employee's looking over their shoulder. Very unhealthy work place.

Working for U.S. Security
Security Officer (Former Employee), Elkton, FL – October 16, 2012
Pros: self-managed most of the time
Cons: increasingly dangerous sometimes
Everyday you clock in and start a DAR log (Daily Activity Routine). In this DAR you log all of your days events. Depending on the post, location of work, you were at depending on what events would take place...you could work as a concert security officer to a private housing complex security officer. Anything and everything that happened in your day – more... had to be logged: what happened at what time and names/locations involved with very specific details. Sometimes you had to call and verbally check in with Post Managers (people who supervised the particular site you were working on). At times this job could get very dangerous even though I was an un-armed security officer some people would become increasingly violent in certain situations. Once your day was done you would file your DAR for the on-post Supervisor, give your 'pass down' (brief daily event details) to the relieving security officer on your post, clock out and go home. – less

First security job, had a great time doing it
Security Guard (Former Employee), Panama City, FL – September 12, 2012
A typical day involved foot patrol, checking armbands for trespassers, monitoring pool and hot tubs, making sure doors are locked properly, closing up everything. Was very well managed and ran, some hard parts were the constant walking, and dealing with drunk/irrate people. I really enjoyed the opportunity to hone my people skills and learn to deal – more... with awkward/dangerous situations – less

I enjoy whot I do, when I found out that I could work my way up to the level I wanted I was happy. My co-workers were easy going we all help with each other (team players). Now I'm working in a area on my own. The hardest part was getting in contact with supervisors.

Professionalism at it's Worst!!!!
Contract Security Officer (Former Employee), Chester, VA – August 8, 2012
Pros: good people at client site
Cons: low pay, no supervisor, bed bugs
The most enjoyable part about this job was working with senior citizens and the clients staff. A typical work day consisted of monitoring all guest entering the building and keeping a daily activity report of all occurences. My co-workers were very supportive of one another and we all maintained a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. The – more... one thing that I've learned is that when employees are left to hang out on a limb and fend for themselves is that when you have dedicated employees who stick together they will overcome any obstacles. – less
