Organization Description: The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance is a national non-profit organization that provides direct lobbying and grassroots coalition support to protect and advance the rights of American sportsmen. USSA’s Government Affairs team works in all 50 state legislatures, at the ballot box, and in the halls of Congress. It also provides litigation services and legal research both at the state and federal levels.
Summary: The Alliance is seeking a qualified candidate for its state legislative affairs department. This department leads the Alliance’s grassroots efforts to advance its state level advocacy agenda. The Associate Director of State Services will lead the organizations efforts to monitor and analyze state level legislation all across the country. In addition, the position will collaborate with the Director of State Services and other members of the Government Affairs team to support or oppose legislation, rules, or regulations at the state level. This position will also be responsible for writing issues-based content regarding legislation, regulations other related issues.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have bachelor’s degree or higher in political science, public policy, public administration or a similar field. Candidates should have related experience in legislative affairs or advocacy; excellent written and oral communication skills, and a passion for the outdoors.
