I took a job with the IRS in 1974, as an "interim" job, expecting it to be dull and boring. Surprisingly, it was anything but. The Revenue Officer job was interesting and challenging, with great responsibility.
After my IRS retirement in 2002, I worked directly with Treasury as an Advisor/Consultant, to help emerging nations build their tax administrations.
So as you can see, that little "interim" job in 1974 morphed over the years into quite a responsible and amazing position.
