Safety Supervisor (Former Employee) – Maspeth, NY – June 29, 2016
The hardest part about working in this environment it was hard to get promoted with out doing thing that was unethical, constant bullying if you were consider an over achiever. Everyone was out for self, the work environment is very hazardous forcing employees to work in environment that was consider highly unsafe. If you refuse they'll build a false paper trail cut your hour and bully you until you quit and or do things their way.
I didnt like the job. The pay was horrible and management were all drug addicts who did nothing but yell at us. I did learn to build a great wall and I got really strong working there. I enjoyed the workout though.
A typical day consists of auditing packaged in order to accumulate revenue towards a specific goal. You learn how the shipping industry works they also offer great benefits including tuition reimbursement, full medical and dental and more.
As a seasonal driver helper you were on call. Dispatch would call and tell you who you we going to help and ware to meet them. The hardest part of the job for me as i am not it the best shape was all the walking from truck to house / apartments.
SUPERVISOR (PART TIME) (Current Employee) – Ontario, CA – June 28, 2016
The job is incredibly difficult and not the safest work environment. The wages are terrible to start but is balanced by excellent benefits. Upward mobility is extremely limited but if you put in the time (12+ years) then you will eventually make a nice wage.
hard work, frequently skipped breaks, high expectations, expect you to work injured
Challenging experience, but rewarding when customer inquiries were handled
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE APAC (Former Employee) – Tampa, FL – June 28, 2016
A typical day consisted of answering customer inquiries over the phone, handling damaged/missing package calls, ordering supplies for businesses, and assisting customers in tracking packages. The workflow was constant a large part of the time, with call queues consistently being full. Each day had a new surprise and a new experience.
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) – Louisville, KY – June 28, 2016
If you're just getting out of high school this is a great place to start and if you choose to go to college they'll will work around your schedule and help pay. The only downside working here is being a single person living on one income. The starting pay is low, but if you can hang in there and work hard you'll move up pretty quick.
UPS Package Handler (Current Employee) – North Platte, NE – June 28, 2016
working at a good pace constantly moving, working the body work environment is good you have to kind of set your own pace as well or else you get clogged up and have to stop and catch up its a workout working here because youre lifting heavy packages, in hot trailers, and you are constanly jumping around from trailer to trailer that go to another destination after the night is over
Working at ups is somewhat fast paced but a well environment to work in due to the teams order of means to sufficiency.my only set back of such working habits were my hours of graveyard for transportation was beginning to become an issue. Weekly pay was great and there were little to no I Injuries ever as of being noted by me specifically. Breaks were given as well needed but not excessively frequently as of just enough and at the right time.
working here is simple for the most part. I was an unloader and besides the issues with machines that assist in unloading it was just hard work.
benefits and compensation, online perks, and assistance
