challenging and rewarding career
Sales Territory Manager (Former Employee) – Garland, TX – March 14, 2017
Primary owner of Customer Relationship:
As a Territory Manager, you are expected to develop and grow existing customers and maximize profitable sales; make sales presentations to all customers on an agreed-upon and consistent basis. Here is where the job gets challenging. You are also expected to manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process (e.g., delivery mispicks, short on loads, stock-outs). Along with handling accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
You may have a really good plan for the day to grow existing customers and profits, but that plan gets torpedoed by a mispick or a short load or a credit issue and now you have to solve that problem. At the end of the day, when all of your customers recognize how hard that you work for them and give you the repeat business instead of giving it to the competition, you get that feeling of satisfaction!
challenging, rewarding, flexible
