Security is a career for transitional people. It's extremely difficult to move up the ranks because companies are constantly being bought out and contracts are constantly being loss. Managers have been in the industry for a number of years and do not plan to leave the position. I checked to make sure doors were secured and there were no safety hazards to report or suspicious people. Ive learned how to stay on point and not trust everyone. My coworkers always made sure we were on the same page and kept the school safe together.The hardest part of the job was to make sure everyone stayed safe in the school. The manager that is no longer with the company did not follow company policies when permotions were due and would premote his pets instead of the hard workers that were due for the promotins.

I am the security supervisorl. I supervise 15 employees. I am usually the first person seen when entering the building. The most enjoyable part of the job is the people coming in and out.

i like the people that i worked for, i would have liked more consistent hours and higher pay but other then those it was a pleasant job,

Area manager doesn't complete the weekly schedule until night before you have to work. Week to week schedule starts on Friday to Thursday. Schedule usually isn't completed until after 2000 hours for the next day's work day.
Promises aren't kept for days off .
'Quota' system exists for apprehending shoplifters.....but then they tell you there isn't a – more... 'quota'. Don't make their 'quota' and they let you go. – less

A typical day would include waiting in a poorly insulated trailer turned guard booth for trucks to come so you could stand outside and check trailers and driver information.

A typical day at work would be very long and honestly, pretty boring. Iv'e learned alot on interacting with people. Management was pretty good. Hardest part of the job was that it was not very exciting. Most enjoyable part was that it was very calm.

Everyday is staying alert and ready. I learn how to approach situations depending on the conflict. The management is fair, understanding, and flexible. My co-workers are a team which make it feel like family. There is no hardest part because I turn the negatives into positives. Process payroll intake for 200 company employees. Assign a nd distribute employee uniforms. File and organize documentations, answer phones, greet clients, and perform duties as needed.

I wasn't happy with the job because people didn't come in for the next shift and I couldn't leave and when I would call the team leader for her to come in so I can leave and go home to my kids. She wouldn't answer her phone.
