We are always seeking the best people to join our winning team and we are currently in need of an experienced Application Developer - Programmer to join our IT Team in our Mid-Wilshire Corporate Headquarters -- a short walk from the Wilshire/Vermont Red Line Station.
Responsible for the full, or compartmentalized, software development lifecycle (SDLC) to include the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, modification, and maintenance of proprietary or third party computer systems and programs deployed by USCB America.
-Extracts requirements through the use of analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
-Conducts requirements analysis to identify and communicate scope of development and programing project timelines.
-Documents the internal design of the system, software, or programming code for the purpose of future maintenance and enhancement.
-Conducts unit, integration, system, and system integration testing to ensure the system, software, or programing code meets the requirements that guided its design and development, works as expected, can be implemented with the same characteristics, and satisfies the needs of end users. May lead user acceptance testing groups.
-Conducts release, install, and activation activities following the completed development process to include assembly and configuration of system(s) or software, assisting end users with self-deployment, or participating in enterprise deployment activities.
-Provides training and support to include in person, remote, or written instruction to end users, clients, and alternate development staff on the systems, software, or programming code created. May conduct, or participate in, activities to downgrade technical documentation into user guides and F.A.Q. documentation.
-Conducts adaptive, perfective, corrective, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure the system, software, or programing code is modified to cope with changes in the software environment, to implement new or changed user requirements, to diagnose and fix errors, or to increase software maintainability or reliability to prevent problems in the future.
-Exercises discretion and independent judgment to manage, track, test, and release system and software changes.
-Meets with various levels of management personnel on specifics of projects, new technologies, and deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
-2-4 years of experience working independently, or within a team, as a Windows and/or web application developer and programmer in a general office environment.
-Working knowledge of the software development process; also known as a software development lifecycle (SDLC).
-Working Knowledge of Importing and exporting complex client files into a system.
-Proficient in two, or more, of the following Database & Programming languages: Cache, SQL Server 2005, 2008, or 2011, C#, VB.net, Silverlight, Asp.Net..
-SAP Crystal Reports and SAP Business Intelligence (BI) Experience, version 2011.
-Experience with Object Oriented Design (OOD) methodologies.
-Experience in using studio development environments.
-Understanding of relational database technologies to include setup, configuration, and maintenance.
-At least two years of experience developing SQL or Cache Queries, stored procedures, and Views.
-Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
-Ability to work under pressure, independently and as a team player.
-This candidate should be able to write / review / maintain documentation describing all elements of software & application development -- Including standard functionality, logic, business process, work instruction, detailed technical specifications, requirements, ETA, and test plans.
-Possess Associates Degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Microsoft Certified Degree is a plus but is not required.
