I'm a Social Worker with research experience who was hired as a Research Asst.

I left after several months of trying to get travel reimbursement and was told they didn't know where they were going to get the money, even though travel reimbursement was part of the job.

During the hiring process, HR was Rude, gave wrong info. causing me to drive to – more... New Bruns. multiple times.
They take money out of pay for 'parking decal', even though none is needed at Somerset worksite. Didn't mention this until the last minute.

Supervisor was unavailable, sat in her office 'writing grants', refused to see employees or answer her phone, email! Workplace encouraged animosity between colleagues, no communication about where resources could be accessed. – less

A typical day at work with be dealing with the high volume of trauma patients that come through the ER and having to remain calm during the ordeal and obtaining all the proper information from the critical patient or family members. I've learned to be patient and collective in crisis situations. I have a great management team that gives us the proper – more... tools to do our jobs. I also have great coworkers that we have developed a work family. The hardest part of my Job is the loss of family members to tragic incidents. Great company to work for. The setting was a prison but I felt safe and valued as an employee. I learned managment skills, safety, and how to interact with all levels of management. The most enjoyable part of the position were the people I work with.

Management is fairly productive. The shortage of staff made tasks hard to complete.

Always willing to be better in technology and medicine, up-to-date on all new medical advances. fun place to work, good co-workers, love the team-work, and my team leader.

The typical day included teaching students in the morning followed by distributing a quiz. In the the afternoon, the students conducted a laboratory experiment. In my past work experience I have primarily interacted with adult, college, and high school students. This was the first experience I had with a younger group of students. A typical day is busy at work. There are so many new things to learn. I have learnt a great deal from my seniors. The hardest part of the job is how efficiently you juggle between your roles. The most enjoyable part is being in a team where one can learn a lot.

Many diverse and interesting projects. Limited funding for projectsmade each a unique challenge.

Very busy working with consultants to transition UMDNJ infrastructure to Rutgers, while trying to run the department and deliver exceptrional customer service.

A typical day at work consisted of answering busy phone lines, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, pulling and filing charts. I learned the importance of urgency. My clinical rotations at UMDNJ nursing school trained me to be a registered nurse, provide quality of life, treat, and care for patients in a clinical or hospital setting. I enabled me to apply my knowledge to critically think and prioritize as future RN. Through out my rotations, I practiced a variety of nursing skills, such as, medication administration, – more... hanging IVs, wound care, catheter insertion, tube feedings, ect. My teacher's really trained and challenged me to my capacity and that is why I know I will be an incredible RN. – less

Great facility to learn. Very low tolerance for mistakes, however, if you can work here you can work anywhere in the United States. Extremely busy department. So much being built - lots of opportunity for build experience.

overall, great place to work. Different units, different issues.
it can go from amazing co workers to almost a war zone for "new faces" on a unit.

Kids are great and very rewarding job

I have been a nurse for many years and never have I worked in such a place. The union is the biggest detriment to the profession protecting poor care givers. Management is terrible and unqualified. They are unprofessional and don't get along even with each other. Practice is dictated by those that are not direct care givers. Employees abuse time by – more... stealing time by coming in late and leaving early. It continues with then signing in for hours not worked. There is also great waste of resources. The sheets and linens are gross. The place is filthy and the patient rooms are disgusting. Many if the beds are broken and beep because they are in need of repair.
My best suggestion for this place is to close this place, get rid if most of the employees and start over. The saddest part is the hospitals customer satisfaction score is 1%. You can get any lower than that. Just because patients are poor and many have abused themselves with drugs and alcohol they still deserve respect and compassion!

Work culture is nice. University with students and Professionals from diverse background and culture.
