The culture was variable, different departments and facilities.
The hardest part of the job was waiting for answers from other departments.
The most enjoyable part of the job was hosting guests and events.
Pros
Diversity on Campus

Unique College Experience
Student (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCJanuary 24, 2017
A day at UNCC is rewarding and enriching, both in and out of the classroom. The people you meet are diverse and friendly, and it is very easy to meet people and make friends. The atmosphere of the work environment is very helpful for learning. The faculty are interesting, supportive, and helpful in assisting with individual needs. UNCC provides more practical, more hands-on work similar to the work force. The exposure you get here as a student is an incredible asset in preparing you for work. Everything is very serious and professional, but also allows you to have fun and take pride in your work.

Assistant Building Manager (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCDecember 11, 2016
Working for the state is always a great thing but working for a university is unmatched. Great benefits, competitive pay, and educational stipends barely scratch the surface of the amazing opportunities held in working for a university.

Good job to work within Higher Education
Financial Aid Counselor Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCNovember 7, 2016
Good place to work, learned a lot within the years. Co-workers like family, team environment. All working for one goal to help the student. The hardest is the commute if you live out side the Charlotte area. The most enjoyable is seeing the students you help graduate and move on with their lives.

Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCNovember 7, 2016
Working as a graduate assistant while in the program is a great way to make money while maintaining flexibility with classes. Compensation is not enough to live on without the help of scholarships, grants, loans, etc., but every bit helps.

Good job for a student on campus
Cone Center Building Manager (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCFebruary 20, 2016
My work day was usually setting up rooms for meetings with technology & facility needs. Daily tasks were reports, communicating with student employees to see if needed assistance. Handled any building maintenance requests.

This improved my skills in time management, personnel coordination and communications. My co-workers were my supervisor, receptionists, building services employees, and our student team.

The hardest part of the job was making sure everything was set up on time. The most enjoyable part was when the events were set up & I could do my reporting and sometimes homework.
Pros
Time to do homework
Cons
Time crunches when multiple events occurring at same time.

Amazing place to work if you are a staff member. They are very kind and amazing group of people to work with . The hardest part is to be consistent and check up on things. Which in retrospect isnt that hard and you meet some amazing people here. Coworker seem to be from an older generation so if you looking for millennials type of place to work this isn't for you.
