Each day was fast paced, challenging and demanding, as each partner needs differed and each required either your presence and or immediate attention. The Knowledge base was wide and the free flow of information to support each assignment was unique and immeasurable. The organisation not only speak of ongoing training it offered and implemented ongoing training as a part of each employee growth and development, challenging each employee to meet personal goals. - always learning new skill-sets.
I was able to experience how important the support of UNDP and the many donor agencies were to the advancement of human development and capacity building as I experience working in different departments and programs.
My co-workers were educated, knowledgeable and efficient. They exhibit a high level of team effort and love for the organization's success. This was a high spirited environment, employees were proud to be a part of the UN family.
There was really no hard part of the job, only new challenges as new projects developed. I look forward to the day's activity, to meet and address the many challenges of partners and agency.

I joined UNDP in 1988 from the research firm RTI International where was Senior Research Psychologist. My position at UNDP required extensive international travel, and substantive backstopping of around half a billion dollars of development programming in all world regions. UNDP had a management web in over 170 countries, and was usually the primary UN agency in each of these countries.Headquartered in New York City in the UN complex, this agency has a talented national and international staff today of around 16,000. My own view of UNDP nets out as positive, although I have been an adviser to many young staff members at HQ and in the field who have expressed concerns re its HR functions, especially as these policies relate to staff benefits and job security. Few however doubt the capacity of UNDP to bring together world-class talent in the design and implementation of development programs in any sector, or its long experience in these fields. I think UNDP, despite its problems, is the core agency in UN development work, and I have immense respect for what it attempts to do in some of the world's most difficult arenas.

Meeting at Government Line Departments when we tried to work together but without project approved. GLDs refused to work in the absence of project approval. Tried to make relationship with Poultry, Agriculture, and livestock departments to serve community in the absence of project. While managing lower staff of GLDs it was difficult to get things done without any financial support. A full year without official project it was hard time to live among the communities. Government line departments arranged beautiful shows to create awareness to plant trees, save livestock through heath care, preserve jungle by stopping free grazing and income generation through mobilizing credit and savings.

First UNDP is a very cool place to work if you land in the right place. Second all of these reviews are in the last year or two. That should be the first hint of something not-all-right. The third thing is half of them are fake. Avoided Management starting from the D's.
