United Water, Inc., formerly known as United Water Resources Inc., provides water and wastewater services to 7 million people in the United States. In addition to owning and operating 25 regulated utilities, United Water operates 65 municipal systems through public-private partnerships and contact agreements including four of the nation's largest water and wastewater contracts. Founded in 1869, United Water is a subsidiary of the Suez Environment division of the Suez Group.

Settlement reached on water rate hike
New Jersey Administrative Law Judge Walter M. Braswell canceled the evidentiary hearings on United Water Toms River's proposed rate increase of more than 90 percent after the water company and the state Division of Rate Counsel reached a tentative settlement agreement, according to Toms River and Berkeley officials.
