A typical day includes:
Supervision of two staff and perform as a HR Generalist in a fast paced work environment. Daily tasks include: recruitment and community engagement, orientation and onboardng new staff, benefit and compensation management, prformance management, employee relations to include FMLA, conseling and terminations when required. Staying abreast of legal updates, utilizing the HRIS to create point in time reports for analysis by senior managemen and perform other duties as required.
In management you must maintain a calm demeanor and be patient. Listen and talk through issues with staff.
Hardest part of job would be counseling an employee on issues that have to be addressed.
The most enjoyable part of my job are the daily interactions with staff, visitors and individuals met through the recruitment process.
