Mental Health Tech Supervisor, Orlando, FL - March 27, 2017
I quickly moved into a supervisor roll in this position. My direct supervisor was good, and tried to work with me most of the time with things. But this place is very high stress and you never know what you are walking into on a daily basis. The structure of the company is to fill the vacancy and not keep enough staff to have a good ratio for the patients where they are able to be watched and taken care of right. There would be a whole unit sometimes with 20+ patients with one maybe two staff at some points, not a safe or acceptable situation, especially when you have patients who like to fight and cause problems with the staff and other patients. To many questionable policies, and not enough enforcement of rules. My schedule was not reliable. I got moved around a lot and never knew what to count on for my shift, or if I would have help.
