Great hospital to work at in a small town, it was just too far to drive when the gas prices went up.

Cons: 80 miles round trip and being called back to work the night shift.
Early arrival for report and to chat with night shift staff. Learned about how smaller town hospitals and physicians had less leeway for a nurse-i.e.-few standing orders. Time consuming-was to call the physician office and wait for a call back to get a simple order. Not like a large teaching institution. Co-workers were great. Hardest part of the job – more... was to drive all the way home, to be called and be told I needed to come back and work the night shift due to low staffing. Most enjoyable was working with the staff side by side to assure they had what they needed to complete their jobs in a very timely fashion. – less
Very rigid just best to be pleasant and just do your job. Talk on your breaks and lunches.

Cons: not enough time to get my work done to my liking. small discount in cafeteria.
Although the morale was poor, I always made it fun for me and people around me. Not all of us are able to work at the picture perfect employment, however I must for me remain diplomatic, nice and courteous. At times happiness is just a state of mind, I would try to make it as pleasant as possible with not DRAMA!!! Cons: short to no breaks, long hours, and no family life.
typically short handed. Not much assistance from management. Hardest part of the job was to do your job within deadlines and cover for call outs as well as areas not covered. What I enjoyed about the job was the ability to juggle the job to accomplish the task needed
