Training of health care workers, professionals and non-professionals in basic infection prevention and control principles (3 days session);
I learned on how to implement infection control best strategic for the safety of patients (main focus), of health care workers and community by devloping policies and guidelines, ditributing them and mentoring their – more... implementation at work place; the management was very good to work together with regional and district management teams by getting a quarterly work plan done and shared including facility based implementers to get support at all levels to coordinate the implementation of activities and reporting findings with feedback; we had goo and strong team work with my co-workers; it was not easy to change the behavior of patient and health care workers, neither receiving data timely for deccision making; the most enjoyable part is to get patient involved and community participating with political commitment from high autorities to move smoothly and celebrate success, especially when no one of staff acquired infection through unsafe practices and the coverage of 90 -95% of staff with the 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccination, all facilites do have policies and guidelines for evidence based practices. – less
