Office Assistant-work (Former Employee), Newark Delaware – May 14, 2013
Pros: flexibility
Cons: needed more hours
It is a great place to work. I answered phones, filing, I learned how to prepare for annual audits. I also kept track of fuel receipts for university vehicles. Management was good. Co-workers were friendly. Everyone made me feel part of the team. The hardest part for me was minimal hours, and the most enjoyable was the flexibility in my schedule.

Interesting experience in Research with my Professor
Research Assistant (Current Employee), Townsend Hall, University of Delaware, Newark – March 13, 2013
Worked on research on consumer economics. Use SAS to run econometric models to study consumer behavior.
The interesting thing is the opportunity it has offered to carry out very relevant and novel researches in the area of consumer economics.

Used to be a great place to work
Staff (Former Employee), Newark Delaware – December 31, 2012
Pros: good benefits
Cons: bad management, terrible raises, lousy administration
The sociopathic upper administration has hired their incompetent friends to key positions throughout. They will overlook more qualified internal candidates only to appoint friends who have no prior experience for position. Upper admin rewards themselves with high salaries, fancy offices (with six digit renovations) and bonuses while cutting hiring lines – more... and staff raises. Employees in mid-level management positions are spineless and terrified of losing their jobs. Upper admin's management style and employee reviews encourages a high degree of office politics and backstabbing. No job stability even for those who display a high degree of talent, creative thinking and experience. Academic departments are under a great deal of pressure to prove their worth and those that don't bring in notoriety or large grants are struggling. – less

Undergraduate Assistant Coach
Undergraduate Defensive Secondary Coach (Former Employee), Newark, DE – December 6, 2012
I would help break down game film with the Graduate Assistants, as well as run the Offensive Scout Team during practice weeks. During camp, I would help the incoming Freshman Defensive Backs learn the playbook. I would coach them on the field, and hold extra meetings with them reviewing film and plays. On game day, I sat in the booth to keep track of – more... down and distance, personnel tendencies, and examine the Secondary. I learned that Coaching takes a lot of commitment. I understand the amount of time it takes to break down and study film. As a Coach, I've learned that you must not be complacent. When a coach becomes complacent with the teams accomplishments at practice or on game day, the players tend to put their efforts on cruise control. I always have extra time for a player when he wants to learn more. I learned that you grade the players performance, not the player himself. I am very knowledgable to the game and am able to understand different concepts of the defense. – less

Student Housing
Environmental Services, Custodian (Former Employee), Newark, DE – June 26, 2012
Pros: working in the housing unit by yourself, or with a team.
Cons: seeing students you like leave that you know will not be back in your housing unit, .
A typical day at work was cleaning the main common areas of the student housing units. I learned if your a good person to the students that they will be nice to you and respect you for who you are. The management was great when needed they would assist or find someone to help with the problem. Most of the coworkers were fun and friendly and very helpful. – more... The hardest part of the job was when in the summer your cleaning the student housing living units and several of the building had no air conditioning. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting hugs from students when they were leaving for the year showing they appreciated you for your work. – less
