Adjunct Faculty ASL Instructor, Knoxville, TN - February 6, 2017
I typically taught 1-2 courses per semester. I arrive in my classroom and set up my computer equipment for PowerPoint presentations. If and when necessary, I set up or re-arrange the chairs/desks in my classroom according to my lesson plans. Then I greeted my students when they were not too busy looking at their cell phones. When class started, I enjoyed the experience of teaching and giving them activities to do based on what the class has covered to that point. The classroom atmosphere was maintained positively by my teaching style and I made sure that my students have fun learning what I teach. Sometimes I made my students laugh. The hardest part of this job was when I had to grade their midterm and final exams which took more of my time. The most enjoyable part of this job was when my students told me via email or in person that they learned a lot from me or that I made a big impact on them and helped them learn new things.
