The UAEF developed a strategic plan in 2012 to guide us through the next several years. The plan includes new programming priorities, common goals and accountability assessments. Through this plan, we have already made some important changes including growing our director's position to full time and hiring a part-time assistant director. We have also grown our number of trustees and have an amazing working board that is diverse in talents and unified in passion and commitment to our mission.
Super exciting news: we are bringing the Golden Bear Bash HOME to Upper Arlington! On September 1, 2013 (Sunday of Labor Day weekend), we will host our annual fun/fund raiser at the Tremont Center! The Bash will truly be an Upper Arlington "homecoming" and will welcome involvement from the whole community. This is our largest fund-raiser of the year and I'm pretty sure it is THE party of the year - don't miss it. Last year over 748 people attended the Bash! We expect attendance to grow in 2013.
The Upper Arlington Education Foundation is part of a newly formed Super Powers initiative. Leaders of Upper Arlington community organizations have begun meeting monthly to share the activities and plans of each group. Our goal is to support each other and collaborate in new ways that will lead to growth for all of our initiatives.
We are everywhere in UA! Look for growing exposure at community events such as the Taste of UA, Fourth of July events, and of course in all the schools. We want our community to be aware of who we are and what we are doing!
Through the generosity of our friends in Upper Arlington, we have more funds than ever available to support programs, materials and opportunities that are beyond the districts' budget. Our "friends" include a large number of community members who have donated to our foundation, those who have attended the Golden Bear Bash!, , businesses and individuals who have donated items for the Bash, and those who have set up endowment or memorial funds that will help us continue making grants into perpetuity. We are fortunate to have grown many friends. I look forward to growing more! – less–ZoomInfo
