Ensures accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Responsible for all aspects of monthly closing, prepare journal entries, account analyses, and maintain supporting documents; maintain and balance main and subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; analyze variances and resolving discrepancies. Analyze and monitor the transactions taking place in the organization and ensure that they are recorded accurately and according to the accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and report within the deadline ensuring accuracy. Study revenue trends and expenses of the company so that they are appropriately recorded, post data to various ledgers, register, journals and logs following established accounting techniques and procedures. Assist in the preparation of annual UDS, Form 990 and Medicaid Cost Report on an as needed basis. Responsible for closing books at year end upon completion of annual audit. Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis, assist external auditors and participate in year-end audits, anticipate the challenges in the financial system of the organization, prepare a plan of corrective action, and keep management informed. Complete special projects and financial analysis as needed.

Accounting degree required, 3+ years of accounting experience including preparing company books and preparing year end schedules for the auditors. Computer skills required.
