My first day walked in carpet dirty, unpleasant odor, & Unfriendly
Sales Agent (Former Employee), Abbeville, LASeptember 4, 2014
Pros: helping customers better understand their coverages
Cons: hmmmm
A typical day at work with US Agencies, in the beginning, there was just negativity all around. The setting was cold and uninviting day in and day out. I did not really have too much to learn when it came to the ends and outs of the business due to the fact that I have been doing this for 6 years. As far as management goes, the ones who are holding – more... those positions are not qualified, they are not knowledgeable, very judgmental and not caring. It's all about saying the right things to get me to come on board and then you're thrown to the wolves from this point on. There is absolutely no training, it is what i would call pathetic! My co-workers were always bilingual. They lived by this comment here, and I quote.."The company needs me because I speak English and Spanish because its hard to find bilinguals that can do the work they won't let me go, so therefore I don't care" When I heard this I was blown away. Someone like me who has been in insurance for 6 years get let go over something so minor when you have these bilingual agents showing up to work 30 minutes late each and every morning, constantly drooping the ball on things, this is the kind of people US Agencies want working for them. The hardest part of the job was talking to your co-worker or your manager about concerns of the customers or to even point out when they misinformed a customer they would get so defensive, which is not the way to be. We all have a thing or two to learn from each other because we do not know everything. The most enjoyable part of the job was my customers. In the beginning they were not too fond of me, but as time went on they fell in love with me. I can say that I am really good at what I do because I absolutely love what I do. Knowing that at the end of the day I took that extra step with each and every one of my customers brought joy to my heart. Each customer that came across my desk can honestly say that they walked away from that desk with confidence, and understanding of what and where their money was going. I did not just give them a paper and a monthly statement, I gave them knowledge of their policy and my time. – less

Fun company to work for!
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LAAugust 2, 2013
Working with this company was very rewarding. I learned how to enter in the clients information and to develop my listening skills. I also learned how to speak with the client in such a way as to calm the client while processing their info. Management was very easy to work with. They were always there to answer any questions that I may have had. My – more... co-workers were extremely nice, like family. I am still friends with some of them. I would say that the hardest part of this job was hearing the cause of the accidents an how the accidents happened. My most enjoyable part of this job was the time that I spent with my co-workers. – less

Productive
AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIST (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LAJanuary 27, 2013
On a typical day at work I sent out all the missing policy paper work, did correspondence for claims, and scanned claims paperwork. I learned the different insurance documents and claims information. My co workers were good team players and there really wasn't anything hard about my job. The most enjoyable part of the job is when the company came together – more... on different occasions and had cook outs. – less
