UtiliSlave (Former Employee) – New York, NY – March 25, 2015
A typical day at UtiliSave is similar to how I imagine standing in purgatory to be. It is slightly better than being homeless, but not too much better.
Everyone at UtiliSave is severely underpaid. The only individual who makes any money is the CEO, who is out of the office two weeks out of every month vacationing internationally. The CEO is also the cheapest person you will ever encounter, it would be impressive if it didn't cause so many delays and disturbances.
Employee turnover is over 100%. This place is basically Vector Marketing.
The health insurance is catastrophic coverage. Vacation and sick days are extremely limited. There is extreme micromanagement by the CEO - he will shoot you status update emails at all hours (6pm, 3am, whatever) and he gets angry when you don't immediately respond.
The office atmosphere is crushing. Everyone keeps their heads down in the hope of not attracting any attention to themselves. You may need a prescription for anti-depressants to work here.
The sales commission is pathetic and the sell is nearly impossible because UtiliSave is completely unwilling to negotiate on any sort of pricing. Why choose a company that charges 40% when there are dozens of companies who are willing to negotiate and will only charge 25%? Because of all of UtiliSave's proprietary technology? What a joke! There are no stats indicating UtiliSave is any better than even the smallest and most insignificant of its competitors. There is an argument to be made that it is inferior to all of its competitors because the auditing staff gets recycled oncemore... a year. Every auditor with any experience has left for better opportunities. How can UtiliSave claim to justify their high cost to their clients when their staff is comprised of kids 1 year out of school with no experience! It's ludicrous!
There is no room for growth in this company, if you get hired for a position expect to just get more responsibilities but do not think you will get a title nor a raise. You will just be used and treated like you're garbage. There is so much negativity in this company that you will dread going to work every day.
Working at UtiliSave just isn't worth it. Save yourself some trouble and look elsewhere.less
