Pros: helping other people who cant do for their selfs
Cons: having a pt. pass away
Greeting my pt. in the morning assisting my pt out of bed preparing my pt breakfast while they are in the bathroom washing assisting my patient with getting dress next setting the tablet for my pt to eat breakfast help my pt. clean up after breakfast next help my patient clean up her apartment while having conversations with her about what's she did – more... while growing up and what's going on in her life now to keep her mind going because she has Alzheimer and she will shut down at times after that I give her a snack after that I sometimes takes her out for a walk then I prepare lunch for her next I help her clean up after lunch she might want me to watch T.V with her or listen to music with her she sometimes likes to take a nap then its time for me to go to another patient
I learned that my patients likes to know that someone cares about them
The hardest part of my job is sometimes I get attached to my pts. and then they might pass away I did hospice its very sad to see someone slowly dying
The most enjoyable part of my job is knowing that Im helping making someones life a lil easier and my patients knowing that I do really about them. – less
