Mid-Valley is a private, not-for-profit organization, which provides employment, alternatives to employment, residential support, and transportation services to adults with developmental and other disabilities. Our mission is to assist persons with disabilities to develop to their highest potential and achieve fulfilling lives. We were founded in 1966 – more... by Margaret Reavis Larsen and a group of family members of persons with disabilities. Mid-Valley is governed by a 17-member Board of Directors comprised of family members and business/community leaders. We are deeply rooted in our community and have received a tremendous amount of support from the communities we serve. Our philosophy of service is based on our belief in the value of community-based services which promote independence, integration, and self-respect. We strive to do everything in a way that would be consistent with how we would want our own family members to be treated if our programs served them. We incorporate the principles of person-centered planning and self-directed services into all of our operations. We believe we offer one of the most comprehensive and diverse array of options available in Oregon. We serve about 180 persons each year with a staff of about 110.
