About ValleyCrest Companies

ValleyCrest Companies hits pay dirt with plant care. The company uses its green thumb to provide landscape construction and maintenance, irrigation,  golf course construction, lawn care, nurseries, and site engineering. ValleyCrest grows more than 2 million trees (for relocation), maintains indoor and outdoor gardens, and restores wetlands. It also – more... franchises landscape maintenance services. Notable clients have included the Nixon Presidential Library, Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Founded in 1949 as a small neighborhood landscape retail nursery, ValleyCrest now has more than 100 offices worldwide.

Operations

The company operates through seven divisions: Landscape Development, Landscape Maintenance, Design Group, Tree Care Services, Golf Course Maintenance, Tree Company, and Residential. The Tree Company provides tree relocation and preservation services to landscape contracters, architects, and developers, while the Tree Care Services division provides more indivicual, cost-effective tree care services, including pruning and maintenance and emergency storm clearence.

Geographic Reach

ValleyCrest has locations throughout the US (including Hawaii), as well as in Puerto Rico and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. It has the capacity to work in other international locations upon request.

Sales and Marketing

The company markets its services to real estate developers and owners, public agencies, property managers, and homeowners.

Mergers and Acquisitions

ValleyCrest has slowed down its expansion efforts recently, but over the years the company has grown primarily through acquiring regional landscaping businesses. In 2008, ValleyCrest acquired Pine Ridge Landscaping based in Virginia. The deal strengthened the company's presence in the lucrative Washington, DC-metro area. Also that year it purchased Concepts in Greenery (based in Florida) and Second Nature (a landscape maintenance firm located in South Carolina). In 2007 it bought Tropics North Landscaping, a landscaping maintenance firm based in Florida, and Scapes, based in Atlanta.

Ownership

Michael Dell, founder of Dell, controls ValleyCrest with a 51% stake. – less
