Small shop working with a team
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), annapolis mdOctober 29, 2013
The job was fun, but im looking for something more serious..
I learned alot about vehilces and customer service.
I enjoyed working with a team and being around the other coworkers.
I didnt like management, they didnt have much time to train in advancing employees.
The hardest part of the job was working on hot summer days, but I always pulled through.

Productive and Learning work place
Certified Technician (Former Employee), Chattanooga, TNOctober 7, 2013
Pros: learning everyday
Cons: not having anything new to learn
I learned something different everyday from my co-workers, managers, and customers. The hardest part of the job is keeping safe and injury free. The most enjoyable part of the job were my co-workers and the customers.

Friendly easygoing place to work
Certified Technician (Former Employee), Smyrna, TNOctober 4, 2013
Pros: friendly, flexible hours
Cons: pay isnt very good
It was a fast paced place to work, you need to know what your doing or else it could seriously mess something up. Management was fine, hardest part was having to stand and bend over all day, best part was the feeling of working with friends.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change
Technician (Current Employee), Holland, MISeptember 19, 2013
This job is a very fun job to have especially if you like to get your hands dirty and work on cars. Depending on your position, you get to either drain oil, lube fittings and change oil filters and on occasion do a diferential, transfer-case or transmission flush. The employees are very out-going, helpful and knowledgable. Hardest part of the job is – more... doing oil changes for a long period of time( couple of hours). The most enjoyable part of the job is hearing a customer thanks you for the quick, efficient, and friendly service you have provided. – less

Great stepping stone for an automotive career
certified technician at VIOC (Current Employee), Lansing, MISeptember 9, 2013
It's a great to learn and become comfortable with working on cars. The work place is very professional but there's a great sense of community among st employees. The hardest part of the job is time management and handling the rush time. The most enjoyable part of the job is all the skills you are taught, like different ways on handling customer issues – more... or even retail strategies. – less

Structured Environment With Great Advancement Opportunities
Asst. Manager (Former Employee), Fairview Heights, ILAugust 28, 2013
Pros: advancement opportunities
Sometimes you have long work days at Valvoline, but I cant think of any other place that I looked forward to working at more when I woke up in the morning. The workers at the service center become your family and make you feel like you belong. There are also very clear goals and charts pointing out what must be done for a promotion. This job was excellent – more... and will definitely be missed. If not for moving out of state, I would still be with the company today. – less

Pay does not compensate for work output
Technician (Former Employee), San Antonio, TXAugust 25, 2013
Pros: convenient location, experience
Cons: dangerous hazards, uncomfortable uniforms, unsuitable pay, unfriendly environment
Work usually consisted of being in the heat with no A/C and uncomfortable uniforms. Cars were usually hot to the touch from being driven all day, a lot of burn hazards definitely. Pay is not worth the risk of some potentially dangerous accidents.
