On January 29th, the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority took an important step in creating an integrated health services system. A new executive structure was created which brought together in one team representation from all geographic and clinical areas of the Authority to encourage a commitment to integration, accountability, and patient care.
This – more... action was important, and is another indication that this is a time of fundamental change in the way we provide health care in this province. We know that with any change comes uncertainty, and that the answer to uncertainty is clarity. That's why we are committed to open and direct communication. All of us have a role to play in making necessary changes in health care, and one of our keys to success will be our ongoing commitment to open and effective communication.
We recognize that the responsibility to bring change to health care is a unique opportunity build a health care system that works and that sustainable. We believe the goal, and our ability to reach it, far outweighs the uncertainty we all face. Throughout all of the hard work that lies ahead, we will dedicate ourselves to the principle of placing the needs of patients, clients and residents first. Behind every thought, every discussion, every action will be the interest of patients1.
Accordingly, the new executive team met in an all-day strategy planning session last week. Given our urgent task to find a way to balance fiscal challenges with rebuilding our commitment to patient care, we set action priorities for the coming 12 months. We agreed that the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority will move forward quickly and decisively to make the changes necessary to support our health care system. The people who rely on the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority deserve no less a commitment.
We want to tell you about the priorities that emerged from our strategy planning session. These are the core commitments and actions that will involve all of us at the VCHA, and will shape the months to come:
Action Plans
We will launch a series of 90-day, six-month, and 12-month action plans that will include important deliverables. Executive members will meet with their teams in the coming days to move these actions forward, and you will have the opportunity to see these plans as we will make them available in print and web formats. – less – More from ZoomInfo »
