This position assists the Assembly department manager with a variety of inventory control, production control, and administrative tasks.
Kitting: creates kitlists and kitting sheets, and sets priorities for the warehouse kitting personnel.
Reviews shortage reports from kitting personnel and other sources, and follows up with purchasing and manufacturing in order to assure that kits arrive in production without shortages.
For common hardware and rivets: Adjusts inventory as necessary, corrects workorders and engineering masters to assure proper quantities are backflushed, fixes auto-issuance problems.
As a backup to the assembly manager, corrects employee timecard login information in MRP (Visual) and Payroll (Optima) systems.
Assists production staff whenever shortages threaten assembly schedules, tracking down material shortages, correcting workorders and engineering masters, correcting inventory errors.
Assists Assembly Manager in creating and updating management reports, workload schedules, etc, and produces these reports for management meetings whenever the manager is unavailable due to vacation or other absence.
Backs up and assists Assembly Manager with other administrative tasks as needed.
Education and Experience:
Requires the ability to read and understand complex Bills of material, blueprints and (occasionally) schematics.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.
4 years of precision sheet metal mechanical / electro-mechanical or very closely related assembly experience is required.
Knowledge / Skills:
Ability to multitask successfully while under pressure.
Must have a basic understanding of all precision sheet metal and machining processes, in order to successfully track down and expedite parts.
Ability to compose and maintain computer generated spread sheets.
Substantial skill with Visual ERP or a closely related ERP system.
