VelaPoint Insurance, LLC is a rapidly growing company in the Hillsboro/Tanasbourne area and is currently seeking to add to our IT Support staff. This is a key role in supporting the growth of the company. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk tickets, server management and reports. Hands-on technical assistance with employee population, Works with other team members to ensure procedures and working practices are efficient and effective for running of all tasks associated with operating and controlling the installed hardware and software. Conducts investigations on system performance and makes proposals for improvement. Carry out additional tasks as needed. This position reports directly to the IT Manager.
-2 Year's occupational Experience in a network management role
-Multi-server, high-availability virtualization technologies
-Firewall, routing, and switching technologies
-Advanced computer competence and tech savvy
-Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
-Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
-Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
-Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
-Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
