Para Transit Driver (Current Employee), Hyattsville, MDJuly 4, 2014
ok if u need something to keep you above water...Long hours of driving transporting clients with disabilities, options of flexibility is minimal. Co workers are very friendly and informative. There is not really anything hard about the job itself. Enjoyable part is meeting new people and out o the road on your own with little supervision.

Not a Family Oriented Company/Poor quality of Life
Bus Operator 11 years (Current Employee), Norcross, GeorgiaJune 26, 2014
Pros: strong union presence
Cons: unprofessional management staff/no restroom breaks/run time on routes too tight
All runs are so tight that the Operators do not have time to go to the restroom. Local routes are not timed currectly by Gwinnett County which causes our patrons to constantly be late for work, doctors appointments etc. The Management staff is very unprofessional and unorganized. The Union is constantly filing Grievances about our pay and working conditions. – more... They cannot keep new Operators because of harrassment from Management. Our buses are constantly breaking down because they are so old. Split shifts. Veolia Transportation is not a family oriented company and does not care about the health and well being of their employees. – less

Road Safety Supervisor (Former Employee), Boston, MAJune 17, 2014
Pros: certificate of leadership training and recongniton
Cons: staying free from accidents
Veolia Transportation was a rewarding environment to have worked in It's a company that focuses on Safety First and at the highest. It provided my with an opportunities educational training for career advancements. Responding to School bus incident was motivating, challenging it let me utilized my skills and experiences as a bus monitor, teacher's assistant – more... to adjudicate situations with students, parents and drivers, I really miss my co- workers because I know what the job requires and what a daily work force consist of weather it is Safety Desk or being a Road Safety Supervisor because if a call goes out sometimes we can back up each other or provide some support as needed. the job required you to be 100% free from risk it was hard to do because accidents happens when you least expect tem. – less

Poor Management
LEAD DIESEL MECHANIC (Current Employee), Englewood, COMay 30, 2014
Pros: having a job to go to
Cons: everything else
We lack on staffing and little to no training is provided. Very behind on a lot of work orders but cutting overtime. Parts are always an issue being in stock. Rushed to get equipment out the doors but punished if you make a mistake. Denied vacation if manager feels if you don't need one at that time. Work not dispersed to level mechanics as it should. – more... Ignored if you want to make improvements. Very dirty environment. This place needs a serious change in management and maybe great things would happen. – less

Bad place to work for Veolia Transportation
Transit Driver (Former Employee), Washington DC Adams PlaceApril 28, 2014
Pros: easy place to work with after training
Cons: they sets drivers
The typical work day is good as long as the dispatchers in Hyattsville don't keep calling you and keep deleting about three trip and and three to four trips back on.

I learned How to drive more safer than I was driving.

Management sucks

The co-workers were ok

The hardest park of the job is been fired because your home office calls you to tell you – more... to push the camera button and than call you back right after you have push the button and be recorded on camera and telling you that you won't be recorded .

I feel that I was set up after putting in for another position the day before and being fired after I was told that I wouldn't be recorded.

The most enjoyable part about the job was the customers only driving the customers where they need to be dropped off, to the doctor appointment, food store, any where they wanted to go. I miss the love from some of them not all was nice. – less

Great company to work for
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Bridgeport, CTApril 24, 2014
Pros: good people, great clients
Cons: salary; no room to grow as an employee (at this office, at least)
Although this is a great company to work for, there is unfortunately no room for me to grow as an employee here. I need a little bit more of a challenge. For six and a half years at this company, this work has become somewhat challenging but has become tedious. Everything that I do here has become second nature to me. I am prepared to take on several – more... more responsibilities, at the same time, if need be. Data entry is the primary focus of my job, just a bunch of numbers being typed into the program (Stratagen) we use here. I have learned that I can take on leadership roles and successfully execute, maybe the reason being that I have been here for so long, people can come to me and ask every and any question being thrown at me. Telephone calls are another part of my job, while I don't take a lot of phone calls, they are what I do when there isn't anyone else available in the office to do so. Either that, or if someone needs assistance with answering phone calls, I will stop what I am doing to help answer the reservations line. – less

The Best Company in the World!
Driver/Road/Dispatch Supervisor (Former Employee), Concord, N.C.April 18, 2014
Pros: family, friendly, food, appreciated as a driver
Cons: not a one!
I was so proud to say that I worked for Veolia Transportation. I started with them until they lost the contract bid. However, it just wasn't the name that made me proud. It was the way business was conducted. Things seemed simpler. We actually have the same management team with a few minor changes but they changes have made a big difference in our day – more... to day life at the company. Many of our drivers are also the same. So overall I love this property and the staff. I wouldn't be anyother place but Concord! – less

A great place to learn different areas
Paratransit Driver (Current Employee), North Charleston, SCApril 16, 2014
Driving and picking up different type of people with different attitudes. Driving in rush hour traffic and being able to drive in diverse weather conditions. I've learned how to deal with people and how to get around the Charleston area. My co-workers are good people, its all about communication on this job. I love being able to help my clients get – more... to there destination and even talking to them. – less
