A unit of Veolia Environmental Services North America, the solid waste services firm provides services to commercial, industrial and residential customers in 12 states, the Bahamas, and Canada. Veolia ES Solid Waste operates 76 collection facilities and 30 solid waste sanitary – more... landfill facilities in North America. Commercial offerings also include bio-remediation, construction and demolition waste disposal, in-plant services, liquid solidification, waste evaluation, and portable toilet services. In 2012 the company was sold to ADS Waste Holdings, part of Highstar Capital, for $1.91 billion.
A consolidator in a fragmented market, the company has grown by acquiring smaller waste companies. In 2010 it acquired a waste collection firm in Monticello, Indiana, from Indiana Waste Systems, and in 2008 it purchased waste collection and recycling services firm John Glenn Sanitation Service in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. – less
