Vergent is a data networking and telecommunications provider with a strong, nationwide network of clients. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious business-to-business salesperson to join our team as an inside/outside sales representative (hunter role). If moving into management is one of your career goals, we'll give you the opportunity to transition into sales management and grow your own team (upon demonstrated success). Previous business-to-business telecommunications, IT services, or cloud solution sales experience is required.

Your job is to pioneer a strong sales department which will partner with our marketing professionals to drive growth. We’re looking for a self-starter who’s not afraid to pick up the phone, knock down doors, and persuade decision-makers. Management types: once you learn the ropes and become successful, we’ll give you the green light to hire and manage your own team. Pure sales types: this is your chance to build a client base and reap the rewards--the sky truly is the limit.
- At least two years of previous business-to-business sales experience in the telecommunications or IT services industry. If you have experience selling IT consulting and support services, cloud-services, business VoIP phone systems, or B2B telecommunications, we want to talk to you.
- An understanding of how voice and data networks operate
- Comfortable discussing and using technology
- A demonstrated ability to meet sales quotas
- A proven track-record as a hunter / closer
- An excellent understanding of business processes and the ability to connect with C-Level executives and small business owners
- An inquisitive mind and the ability to quickly find answers and absorb knowledge
- A demonstrated ability to cross-sell and upsell within established accounts
- Great negotiating and closing skills
- The ability to follow established business processes
- The ability to stay productive and meet various quotas without a lot of micro-management
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (or experience with other CRM software like Salesforce, Goldmine, etc.)
