Working at Verizon Wireless

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Verizon Wireless? Any advice on striking the right note?

I see that most of the people here applied for or work as a CSR at Verizon. Is anybody here working as a Tech. Support I - Coord.? That is the position I applied for and have gone through 2 phone interviewwith HR and just passed the computer assessment last Friday. Still waiting for them to call me back to schelude a face-to-face interview. I believe their next training starts on Oct. 25th. Anyway, I have browsed and read most of the post here, but I dont see many replies about the Tech. Support position. Would the Tech. Support be required to make sells to the customer like the CSR? Just wondering, if anyone here working as a Tech. Support can tell me how that position is like at Verizon.

I'm wondering if I should be worried. - I really need this job. I applied online and received an email about a week later asking me to call HR and set up a phone interview - and I did just that. I had my first phone interview on 2/15. The HR woman was friendly. She scheduled me to come in for Assessment. I went and took the assessment tests on 2/23. The woman there was also very friendly, she told me that I passed and she scheduled me for a second phone interview. I had that second phone interview today with a man. He was not so friendly, and at the end of the interview he told me that they would review my information and get back to me (via email) sometime in the next five business days. This worries me because the previous interactions all resulted in the scheduling of the next step. Is this procedure or does that mean I failed? Or are they REALLY reviewing my information and I still have a chance? I'll be frantic and worried about this all week. Yuck.

Hello all, I wanted to see if anyone could help me out here..i applied for a sales position with Verizon in southern ca about a week or so ago and got a call from a unavailable number, unfortunately i missed the call and they left a message, the problem is that my voice mail cut off the whole message except for the last number of the call back number and a voice saying "we look forward to hearing from you." So I would like to call them back but do not have a number. I tried calling customer service but they were no help, and i tried calling the store and the peole just tell me to hold on and them hang up on me....So does anyone know the phone number for either the recruiting dept or the HR dept that I could give a follow up call to? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I "qualified" on all tests and both interviews for a cable splicing job . I did recieve a speeding after i applied . However when i was offered the job . I told the HR guy . He said he could disqualify me for that . I told him that its been 3 months and the ticket is NOT on my mvr record . He still sent me to get my physical and asked me for my shirt size . Will this have any effect of me getting the job ?? I will add , i did have a speeding ticket back in 2009 i totallyyyyy forgot about .. Thanks . Ps. Im suppose to start pole class on monday April 30th

Hi, I'm going through the verizon background and I gave the wrong employment dates on one of my jobs on accident, I couldn't get in touch with the HR dept. I have no record and everything else was accurate. My question is will they show me mercy on this one concern and allow me to work for Verizon?

I applied for a Verizon Customer Service position in the Huntsville, AL location back in early July. Friday Aug 13th (yeah Fri the 13th, bad sign?) I received an email from a recruiter saying to call to setup a phone interview. It was after 5PM when I called and it went to her voice mail telling me to call XXX for the Huntsville position. I called that number and they lady set me up with a phone interview for the next morning at 8 AM. The woman I interview with seemed very odd, almost robotic with no emotion and monotone. After the interview she said she would recommend me to a recruiter to schedule a assessment test. I got the call today, Aug 17th, to come in for my assessment on Aug 30th. So my questions are: 1) What exactly is on this two hour long assessment test? 2) How difficult is the assessment test? 3) I have heard some talk about the A-Check background check; is this used company wide or just by position/location? What if I have been working as an independent contractor? That employment won't show on a background check nor do I receive W2's, so how would I explain this? 4) Assuming I make it past the assessment what is on the second interview? I have heard it's a harder interview, so I would like to be prepared. The training class I would be interviewing for is the one on Sept 23rd, so I have plenty of time. Hopefully everything goes well.
