Starting range $36,000-$41,000 based on experience and/or education
Days: Full time, Mon-Fri (1 part-time)

The Vocational Specialist is directly responsible to the Program Supervisor for the day-to-day operations of the program services. The Vocational Specialist is responsible for completing comprehensive vocational assessments for each client: evaluates participant’s interests, education, and experience to determine possible placements and develops plans to further participant’s entry into the labor market. Conducts job development activities including job identification and contacting potential employers that are specific to the participant’s vocational plans. Teaches job attainments skills including completing applications, dress, social skills, interviewing correspondence, internet use, employment search, and follow up.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years related experience. Must possess a valid California driver's license, driving record and personal automobile insurance consistent with the standards outlined in the Agency's Personnel Policy; Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
*Master’s degree preferred in vocational rehabilitation services.
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
*Bi-lingual in identified threshold language(s).
*Two or more years of professional experience in vocational, educational, or
motivational counseling, employment development, training and/or employment
agreement negotiation and monitoring or vocational testing and assessment; Ideal
experience should have provided knowledge of the qualifications appropriate for a wide variety of occupations, utilizing job placement and skills assessment.
