Good place to work, especially if you like the product
Sales Support Associate (Current Employee), Westminster, CAApril 12, 2014
Pros: fun people and environment, and relatively easy work
Cons: fakeness and insincerity from everyone and everywhere, even you
Other teams surely have more predictable days and duties, but I never really know what task(s) I will have until I clock in. I am just sent to whatever hole needs to be filled. I have learned much about retail culture and mentality, and about Victoria's Secret specifically, but it is really just a typical minimum wage job. My coworkers are fun and friendly, – more... and many of them/us are friends outside of work. There are, however, certain elements of working almost exclusively with women that are absent in more coed environments, from which cliques, gossip, etc arise. The hardest part of the job is following a policy with which I disagree. There is always some poorly thought out system or policy being implemented, it seems. The best part of the job is working with the customers. I enjoy the interpersonal interaction more than moving boxes in the back. – less

Awesome high energy place to work!
Brand Delivery and Operations Manager (Former Employee), Albuquerque, NMApril 9, 2014
I loved working for Victoria's Secret and learned so much while I was there. Most of the skills that I have, I learned throughout the years that I was employed with VSS. The company is very fast-paced and challenging. They have awesome training programs and incentives! I highly recommend Victoria's Secret.

Great job but not for me.
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Nashville, TNApril 8, 2014
Pros: discount
Cons: little full time opportinites besides mgmt. no befits unless mgmt.
The job for a while was great. The atmosphere is fun, even thought its stressful at times. After a few years of working in this kind of retail environment (bras and panties) you really get tired of the shoplifters and the folding of hundreds of panties every night. Its good for a seasonal job in between semesters, but unless you WANT to be a manager – more... someday, its best to move on. – less

High expectations from a successful brand
Product Manager (Former Employee), Abilene, TxApril 7, 2014
Pros: well known brand, gratis, merchandise discounts, growth potential
Cons: below average compensation, poor work-life balance
If you can manage at Victoria's Secret, you can manage anywhere!

Company has very high standards for its employees. Very fast-paced environment. Marketing and visual merchandising strategies are constantly changing in order to maximize selling potential according to market data. I learned a lot about analyzing business metrics and the "shopkeeper" – more... mentality. There is potential for growth in this company as long as you have the drive and the talent. It is a well known brand and can be a fun place to work for at times. Employees enjoy 30-40% discounts and regular merchandise gratis.

Unfortunately I don't think my team and I were compensated fairly for the amount of effort we put in and the results we created (ranked in the top 100 stores for overall store performance in 2013). Even among other retailers, I would say on average VS pays within the bottom third. – less

Bra Specialist
Bra Specialist (Former Employee), Glendale, CAApril 5, 2014
I was in charge of more than just making every woman who stepped into the store as welcomed as possible. My job was to make sure she was getting the ultimate and full-experience of a Victoria’s Secret shopper and inspire her with intimate knowledge. It was an honor to connect and bra fit every customer in order to fulfill all her expectations in the – more... fitting room. I knew the store inside/out and had no problem with making this happen. Other times, I was just placed at cashiers for the rest of the day or recovery of the store. – less

Exciting, fast-pace work enviroment
Sales Associate (Current Employee), Spanish Fort, ALApril 3, 2014
A typical work day consisted of clocking in, listening to the daily message, and meeting with a manger to find out where you were working for the day, Each employee was cross trained in every department so you could work where they needed you. The hardest part of the job was the training because everything is extremely detailed. The most enjoyable part – more... of the job was the everyday customer interaction. My co-workers were amazing, Everyone always worked as team, managers and associates always worked together and bounced ideas off of one another, – less

Retail Associate (Former Employee), DallasApril 2, 2014
This particular VS is in a mall in the "higher-end" part of Dallas. With that being said this store was always busy! Keeping the store clean and being attentive to all customers was a challenge, but I loved it! I tried to keep the two balanced.
