RN Charge Nurse, Tulsa, OK - December 12, 2013
This is a very typical long term/skilled setting, other than the well-appointed decor. Nursing staff provides total care, there are no med aides. The typical patient load is 15-17. Management was making significant changes when I separated myself from there. If the staff all arrived, the atmosphere was positive and the day flowed well. If someone didn't show up, things were rough, but generally the floor staff worked together to get the work done. The hardest part of the job was the 12 hour shifts. The most enjoyable part of the job was watching the skilled residents improve and go home.
