Security Guard (Current Employee) – Columbus, GA – September 29, 2016
The fact that there is no paid vacation is so ridiculous. I can't think of one good thing to say about Vinson. I will be leaving soon to explore other job opportunities. Only caters to retired military!!!!!
Security Officer (Former Employee) – Lake Charles, LA – September 27, 2016
Vindictive supervisors who can't do anything to the plant employees so they spend their days nitpicking the guards.. Especially the male guards, the facility I was at all the supervision was female.i was told they didn't really like male guards not to get used to being there.
Vinson promotes from within when ever possible. The knoxville branch has worked with me to see that we mutually get our goals accomplished. Depending on site worked security can be boring or exciting. No 2 sites are identical. The supervisors are always working and trying to make sure that the guards are doing well and checking on us so that we are doing the job right. They do require us to do our jobs! But we were looking for a job when we applied! I see these negative reviews and i couldn't disagree more at this time.
various sites with multiple responsibilities. some free coffee or water or fruit.
I'd clock in and grab the log in sheet. Walk outside and write down license plate numbers, models, make and color of every car in the parking lot. Then I would begin to make my rounds twice an hour. What I've learned is to remember numbers(from writing down plate numbers every night) and security skills, which is to be alert at all times and listen and observe surroundings. Management was great. The managers would sometimes show up to see how things are going and pass out our schedules for the following week. The hardest part of the job is being dispatched to check on a suspicious area or situation but that's where courage comes in. The most enjoyable part of this job is when the company would pick up clients, such as events where we can show our professional skills as a team.
my supervisor was not willing to work with anybody about anything. the account manager was alright but zero help when it came to anything. the account we had a contract with was allowed to push us around more then the normal.
Security Officer (Former Employee) – Monroe, LA – April 18, 2015
A typical day at work was anything but typical. It seemed as though lower management didn't seem to want to perform certain parts of the job, leaving employees to guess at where they were assigned from week to week and causing general operations to appear to falter. Further, lower management was frequently unreachable or seemed annoyed at questions from employees. There seemed to be no apparent advancement opportunities.
most security jobs can be very boring especially at night when less is going on
Security Officer (Full-time) (Current Employee) – Mobile, AL – November 16, 2014
getting to meet difference people. Sometimes you get to work at difference post . When working beside other people you deal with a lot of difference personality. I learned more and more each day to have patience with people.

Greeter (Current Employee) – Decatur, AL – September 13, 2014
Worse place ever. I was in the hospital and the manager called and threaten to cut my hours because I called out 2 times. The 1st time I had a death and 2nd I have heart issues, this company don't care about the employees, they told me themselves, "we git a business to run" " we don't like giving overtime it comes out our pockets". I mean really, you really gone tell me that unprofessional!! Then I work straight 12 hours weekends only, I have a life and they seem to not care because they off every weekend and all. Looking to find something else asap.
sceurity officer (Former Employee) – Montgomery, AL – May 15, 2014
a day at work u worked by your self on post loney sometimes but a fun place to work co-workers easy to get a long with there was a part of the job the hard part of the job was staying awake the enjoyable part was being by your self great management
This company has the worst managers and supervisors you can possibly find. Pay isn't good and they treat their guards horrible! They're only interested in contracts and not the safety of their workers! We were told by a member of HR or EHS that he didn't care if there was a tornado... his company will not be without a guard!! Enough said
Customer service related work and protecting the site.

Visitor Control (Former Employee) – Huntsville, AL. – December 9, 2013
I worked at the Huntsville Hospital Branch for no more than 3 months. It started out ok, quickly learned that they only care about themselves. Admin will only scratch each others backs. You will be put through situation where you need back up but no one will come to help. Got threatened by someone and they did nothing. Admin is willing to fire you when they find a chance so I quit before they could. When it comes to personal matters they don't care. I think they all should be fired and start over from scratch.
