Intern (Former Employee) – Philadelphia, PA – April 4, 2017
The day would start with a series of scrum meetings, followed by coding in a relatively docile work station. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, as well as the enthusiasm I would sense from the end of a sprint. It was a tech startup, so there were less managers than what you'd find at a more physically laborious job, but the few they had were twice as helpful and careful due to the focused responsibility. The more enjoyable part of the job was receiving praise in front of the entire team for your accomplishments during a scrum meeting, and likewise, the hardest part of the job was having little to say during those meetings.
Close knit team. Good communication during scrum.
Not much initial direction to interns, you're thrown right in.
