Productive and ok place to work.
Buyer/ Adm/ Merch Asst. (Former Employee), Arlington, TX – May 2, 2013
Pros: employee appreciation with food and drinks
Cons: healthcare
Like any other job, is was a cool place to work and I learned a lot vend product that I didn't know before. Management was ok and some of the co-workers were friendly. The hardest part about this job was being pushed into a new position with little to no training. The most enjoyable part of this job was getting to know more about the vending and concession – more... side of business. – less

Unless u want something temporary RUN!!
Driver (Current Employee), Austell, GA – January 30, 2013
Pros: you can get delivery experience if you don't have any
Cons: low pay, long hours, very low case pay/components
If your an experienced driver PLEASE don't waste your time with this VISTAR WANNABE. This place is actually PFG customized who delivers to Wendy's. Vistar pays better, cares about you, and treats you good overall. At PFG customized you only get two weeks of vacation after working with them one full year! Things are constantly changing to benefit the – more... management and try to pay you less than what you were told before. Go to REAL company and not this FRAUD who used to Roma! – less

Great place to work! Great Pay for Great Performers. Very Stressful environment
Corporate (Current Employee), National – December 16, 2012
Pros: great pay, great benefits.
Cons: high demands, very stressful, tend to spread everyone too thin.
Vistar is a great place to work if you are looking to advance or be a top performer. They pile on the responsibilities and demands if you are in one of the top positions. The pay is great but the stress is tough. Vistar runs a very thin head count which tends to stretch people thin and burn out their best performers.

Overall good company
Order Selector (Current Employee), Ontario, CA – November 8, 2012
Pros: benefits, rewards, holiday parties
Cons: behind in technology, improvement input is not acknowledged, evening late shift
Vistar a PFG company is a good company overall to work for. Individuals who just want to make some decent money and have benefits without using to much brain power this is the company for you. The starting pay is a little low compared to most large distribution companies, takes some time to top out which iv been there done that. I just finished my bachelor – more... degree in IT and informed the company and was still looked at as an order selector. With big companies like vistar there should be plenty of room for immediate advancement if one earns a degree while working with the company at the same time. – less

Great Benifits
Puller/Forklift Operator (Former Employee), Shawnee Mission, Ks – October 2, 2012
Pros: employee discounts
Cons: random break schedual, and poorly maintained equipment
Spend the first 30 minutes waiting for your orders. Then go into the freezer (or your assigned picking area) to pick your orders and build them on a pallet.

Face Paced Atmosphere Where Hard Work Pays Hoff
Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee), Shawnee, KS – June 6, 2012
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: n/a
The employees have a great disposition and personality. Everyone is easy to talk to and great to joke with. I have learned many things throughout my stent with Vistar as I held both an operatoins, customer service and sales positions. Managers there are all willing to help you along and succeed in your career. But this is a place where only hard work – more... gets rewarded. I enjoy the people most about this job. – less

Kdelancy – January 4, 2013

The salary isn't that good. At best it's just ok. They work you like a dog and treat you like one too. Alot of favoritism occurs. I quit and found a much better job.
