When busy it's very busy, relaxed environment, technically educating
Audio Visual Technician & Driver (Former Employee) –  Richmond, VAMay 11, 2015
When in the warehouse you're checking inventory performing quality control or pulling necessary equipment for an outgoing event. When on the road it's some great interstate driving to the event site. You then unload gear and inventory it before the equipment setup begins. When the event starts there's a lot of client/ attendee interaction as u keep each meeting rooms functioning with the required A/V equiipment. It offered a lot in the way of learning to operate and maintain the various pieces of audio visual equipment. I learned a great deal in my time there. Perks were free breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner on some events. Sometimes tips were given at the end of events. Of course loading and unloading the trucks was very strenuous.
Pros
Per diem on events, free meals, tips!
Cons
Warehouse times mean slow times and less pay.

Great work Family from all over the US
Driver/Lead Tech (Current Employee) –  Richmond, VASeptember 2, 2014
Loved my job with VAE. Got to meet and work with a lot of great people. Work was exciting, Fun and fast paced at times. Got to see a lot of the US while driving a Truck up and down the East coast and some random trips out West. Great Management team at home warehouse and on the road with Project Managers. Hardest part of the job is really the fact it is having to end due to warehouse being closed due to company being bought out.
Pros
did a lot of travelling and getting to see a great deal of the us, working with some of the best people you could ever meet.
Cons
slow periods of the year where i wasn't travelling as much, because a good amount of my pay came from the overtime i recieved while out of town.

Warehouse Branch Manager (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZApril 28, 2014
Great Company - I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with some really great professionals here, and feel like there was a true "family" enviroment. It was just recently acquired by PSAV.

Poor Upper Management
Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angles, CAJuly 22, 2013
This company has poor upper mangement that lacks in foresight and credibility. They are extremely cheap when it comes to equipment, employee salaries, and benefits. There is no company standards or mission and it shows in their lack of consistancy. They do not value their employees and will use them as bait if needed to watch their own best interest. I would not waste time in building your career with a company that has no regard for anything else other than the "so called" leaders that run it.
Cons
healthcare, training, company growth

Stressful and unorganized
Lead Technician (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJanuary 21, 2013
Schedules never made on time and never stay the same. Expect to be called on your day off and if you don't answer your phone because it's your day off, expect to be reprimanded for it. Lack of training and forward thinking. Communication between management, corporate, human resources and employees is not taken seriously and you will not receive a response to your questions and concerns in a timely manner. Equipment is old and outdated, broken, and aesthetically hideous. Hearsay outweighs documentation with regard to disciplinary actions. Overall lack of care for its employees.

Great Company to work for.
Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Burlingame, CAOctober 29, 2012
VAE is small compared to other AV companies in the industry which is a good thing. VAE may be small but is known nation wide. VAE offers advancement opportunities and incentive programs.
