VGS headquarters located in Carlstadt, New Jersey has an immediate opening for a Programmer. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the development and implementation of our programs. As part of a development team, provide support in a professional and timely manner. The ideal candidate should be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to easily jump back and forth between projects.
Responsibilities
Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, designing and evaluating web or desktop applications
Developing a timeline for all projects
Confirming project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with senior programmer, project team members as well as the clients
Developing and presenting training materials
Documenting procedures used when a program has been formally established
Analyzing programs, troubleshooting errors and making improvements to existing code, as well as writing new programs
Integrating applications by designing database architecture; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems and information servers
Keeping up to date with web and desktop applications
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
- 2-3 years of experience - BA/BS Computer Science - Advanced knowledge in ASP.NET web programming, Visual Basic.Net, JavaScript, C #.NET, Microsoft .NET frameworks and MS SQL Server - Familiarity with OS functionality, usage and file structures - Basic knowledge of mobile app programming (e.g. Android) - Detail and deadline oriented, with a positive, helpful attitude - Strong multitasking and organizational skills
Preferred
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports - Able to support Mac/Windows/Linux laptops and desktops - Able to provide basic support for Networking and MS Active Directory/Exchange
